Folkuniversitetet's mission is to provide people with the conditions for a richer life through knowledge and creativity. We are a non-profit, politically and religiously independent study association with close connections to universities and colleges. In Eskilstuna, we have long operated at Balsta musikslott where we offer rehearsal spaces and run various music groups. We also have growing course activities in central Eskilstuna and collaborate with local craftspeople in their workshops.
About the Position
We now want to further expand our community education activities. We want our community education work in Eskilstuna to develop by strengthening collaboration with local actors and offering activities that are accessible, relevant, and inclusive. By reaching more groups, using culture and creativity as tools for learning and community, and building bridges to further studies, employment, and civic engagement, we can become an important player for democracy, participation, and cultural life in Eskilstuna. We are now looking for you to contribute to this.
Main Responsibilities
Manage the existing music activities at Balsta musikslott
Responsible for planning, developing, and establishing community education activities in Eskilstuna
Identify local needs, target groups, and development opportunities in the community education field
Build, develop, and maintain collaboration with the municipality, voluntary organizations, authorities, and other external actors
Translate environmental monitoring, needs analyses, and local initiatives into relevant and sustainable activities
Contribute to strengthening Folkuniversitetet's visibility and role as a community education actor in Eskilstuna
What We're Looking For
You have strategic ability, local understanding, and implementation capability. You can analyze target groups and needs, drive work from idea to implementation. You are relationship-oriented and collaboration-focused, as well as creative, initiative-taking, and flexible in developing new ideas. We would appreciate it if you have broad experience in community education and/or voluntary or cultural work in Eskilstuna.
Qualifications
Ability to work independently, in a structured and goal-oriented manner.
Strong administrative skills: planning, follow-up, and coordination.
Ability to build and develop collaborations, internally and externally.
Relevant academic education or equivalent.
Good IT skills
Merits
Knowledge of Eskilstuna's cultural, educational, or voluntary sector. Experience in community education and/or cultural/voluntary work, from idea to implementation.
Experience working with social media.
Experience working with socially disadvantaged groups.
About the Position
6-month probationary employment at 80% with placement in Eskilstuna. Start date February 1 or by agreement.
