POSITION OVERVIEW: The Food Service Manager organizes and directs all activities related to catering for TUL students and employees, children in the kindergarten, and other diners and guests. The position also ensures all ordered gastronomic events at TUL and off-site. Responsible for compliance with catering, hygiene, and technological standards and adherence to financial limits set by TUL. Additionally: responsible for supplier selection and sourcing of raw materials, including maintaining supplier contacts; responsible for inventory management and price calculations; collaborates on menu planning for food preparation and service and for additional gastronomic events; collaborates on kindergarten menu planning not only according to school meal nutrition standards but also according to modern nutritional knowledge that respects principles of balanced children's diets; verifies correctness and legitimacy of supplier invoices; prepares documentation for issuing customer invoices; responsible for proper cash handling including timely revenue transfers; responsible for planning and utilizing staff capacity in the cafeteria operation; directs and supervises subordinate cafeteria staff (team of approximately 35 people); evaluates employees including preparation of payroll documentation, attendance records, hiring of new staff, and termination of employment; monitors HACCP, operational and sanitation regulations compliance including their regular updates; monitors and is responsible for quality of served meals; maintains regular communication with all employees through meetings; responsible for overall cafeteria assets, operational inventory records, asset transfers and liquidation; in cooperation with the dormitory manager ensures repairs and maintenance of cafeteria and canteen equipment; responsible for archiving original documents in compliance with TUL's Records Management and Retention Schedule; monitors new trends in food service operations and gastronomy. EDUCATION AND SKILLS: minimum vocational certificate in gastronomy or food service; minimum 5 years of experience in food service operations, of which minimum 2 years in a management position; experience in mass catering operations is advantageous; knowledge of modern gastronomy and modern nutritional knowledge; knowledge of school meal nutrition standards is advantageous; ability to implement changes in food service operations (particularly offering attractive and quality meals, reorganization of food service work, operational profitability, etc.); Group B driving license; active driver; knowledge of PC and MS Office; organizational and management skills; strategic thinking; communication skills; responsibility and reliability. EMPLOYEE BENEFITS: accommodation, company meals, language courses EMPLOYMENT TERMS: 100% position, employment contract for a fixed term of 1 year with possibility of renewal. START DATE: October 2026/by agreement. SALARY CLASSIFICATION: salary grade B6, expected monthly salary after successful adaptation: 45.000 - 50.000 Kč, possibility of personal allowance and management allowance.
