MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE (registration No. 90000064161) announces an open competition for a vacant civil servant position for a fixed term: Senior Expert, European Union Funds Financial Management Division, Budget and Finance Department (Professional Classifier Code 2422 09) If you have a strong sense of responsibility, a desire to learn and acquire new knowledge, the ability to plan your work and set priorities, apply and become part of the Ministry of Agriculture team. Your main job duties will be: - Ensure the performance of specific functions of the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund Managing Authority as set out in European Union and national regulatory acts - review quarterly expenditures and annual reports of the Rural Support Service; - Provide support in the preparation of projects financed by European Union policy implementation instruments and other foreign financial assistance at the Ministry of Agriculture; - Coordinate project administrative implementation and ensure preparation of necessary reports. Requirements for candidates: - Must meet the requirements of Article 7 of the State Civil Service Law; - Higher education (preferably in finance or economics); - At least three years of work experience in public administration; - At least one year of work experience in economics or finance; - Experience in project management or implementation; - Knowledge of European Union funds and their administration; - Knowledge of project management; - Proficiency in Latvian business correspondence and writing standards; - Knowledge of English in writing and speaking, necessary for work with EU documents in their original language, international project documents and participation in meetings; - Good skills in working with software MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Office Outlook, web browsers; - Analytical thinking; - Good communication skills and ability to work in a team. To perform the duties of the position, the civil servant must use an independently registered national electronic identification tool – eParaksts mobile or eParaksts eID.
