MINISTRY OF DEFENCE announces an open competition for a civil service position Senior Expert (Medical Readiness Issues) We offer: • an opportunity to perform responsible and interesting work in state administration in a prospective and dynamic field; • an opportunity to expand knowledge and professional skills both in Latvia and in international training courses; • social guarantees in accordance with those established in state administration, health insurance coverage starting upon assumption of office duties; • additional leave after the first year of service; • monthly salary from 2095 EUR to 2549 EUR (before tax), vacation allowance. Main duties: • prepare proposals for long-term and medium-term National Armed Forces medical readiness development; • oversee the implementation of the military medical support capability plan, develop proposals for its improvement; • provide expert assessment for updating regulatory acts related to medical support development in the National Armed Forces. Requirements for candidates: • compliance with requirements of Article 9 of the Law "On State Secrets"; • compliance with requirements of Article 7 of the State Civil Service Law; • academic or second level professional higher education; • professional work experience in healthcare; • experience in state administration; • knowledge and skills in preparing policy planning documents and draft regulations; • knowledge of comprehensive state defence principles and healthcare systems; • ability to analyze large volumes of different types of information for assessing action consequences and decision-making; • interest and knowledge in the field of state defence and National Armed Forces tasks; • excellent communication and presentation skills; • English language knowledge necessary to read and understand received documentation; • sense of responsibility and precision.
