Energikontoret i Mälardalen (EKM) is seeking a strategic and relationship-building CEO who wants to take the organization into its next phase of development—strengthen owner relationships, secure finances, and build a robust organization for the future. Work Tasks Energikontoret i Mälardalen is the owners' expert body on energy and climate issues and a driving force in the region's transformation efforts. Here, high expertise, engaged employees, and an organization with a good collaborative climate and a clear mission to create value for member municipalities and regions meet. As CEO, you report to the board and have overall responsibility for operations, finances, personnel, and external relations. The role requires you to build strong relationships with owners, employees, politicians, civil servants, and partners, drive change and create engagement, communicate clearly, attentively and inspiringly, and be strong in implementation. The focus is on: Leading the implementation of EKM's long-term vision and strategic development Building strong, long-term relationships with member municipalities, regions, and other strategic actors and creating trust with employees, politicians, and civil servants Driving change and creating engagement to develop both operations and the organization Communicating clearly, attentively, and inspiringly and making EKM's value and results visible to the owners Ensuring long-term sustainable finances and a diversified financing portfolio Strengthening work with EU funding and developing the project and assignment portfolio with implementation strength Creating a less person-dependent organization with clear accountability and increased employee responsibility Qualifications We are looking for someone who is strategic and analytical, and who in addition has: Ability to build strong relationships with owners, employees, politicians, civil servants, and partners Ability to drive change, create engagement, and develop both operations and the organization A clear, attentive, and inspiring communication style that can make EKM's value and results visible Ability to prioritize, implement, make decisions, and create concrete results Beyond this, we believe you have: An academic degree in, for example, energy, technology, environment, community development, or economics Several years of experience in qualified management or leadership work, including budget and results responsibility Documented experience in operational development and change management Leadership that creates conditions for employees to develop and realize their full potential Good understanding of the public sector, municipal companies, regional operations, and politically governed organizations Very good Swedish skills, in speech and writing, as well as good ability to communicate in English It is a merit if you have experience from the energy, climate, or sustainability field, from project and EU-funded operations, from municipal or regional operations, or from member or owner-governed organizations.
