Would you like to work practically with plant breeding in an operation where agriculture, development, and variety come together? At our breeding station in Lännäs, we develop new varieties of red clover and early spring barley and conduct variety testing in other crops. We cultivate approximately 100 hectares of arable land for trials, multiplication of breeding material, seed production, and grain cultivation. With a modern machinery fleet and proximity to the fields, you'll have the opportunity to be an important part of developing the varieties of the future.
What you'll be doing
Together with colleagues at the breeding station, you'll participate in all work related to cultivation and handling of breeding material. You'll prepare seeding, sow, tend, and harvest material as well as handle steps such as drying and cleaning. The work is performed both manually and with machines and also includes maintenance and minor repairs of agricultural machinery, equipment, and specialized machines. Depending on the season, work takes place both in the field and indoors, with particularly intensive periods during seeding and harvest.
You'll be part of the existing team at the breeding station, which consists of a station manager and breeding workers. In this role, you'll contribute to the daily work at the station and help develop efficient working methods in an operation characterized by seasonal variations, practical problem-solving, and close collaboration.
You report to the station manager and the position is located in Lännäs, Undrom.
