About the Operations
The Thorax and Cardiology Operations Area provides both highly specialized care and regional and county healthcare services. Our patients come from the entire region, Sweden, and Iceland. The operations have active research, development, and education activities (R&D) in collaboration with Sahlgrenska Academy, as well as a significant educational mandate.
Unit 92/93 HIA has approximately 110 employees and provides inpatient care in cardiology and cardiac intensive care. The unit has 30 beds, of which 10 are cardiac intensive care beds. Operations include acute cardiac care and aftercare following cardiac interventions, encompassing cardiac infarction treatment, severe heart failure including pump therapy, and cardiac arrhythmias. Job Responsibilities
As a nursing unit manager, you will work together with a nursing unit manager colleague to:
Have personnel, budget, and work environment responsibility for approximately 110 employees
Work actively to follow up on the unit's goals
Utilize and develop employees' competencies
Drive change and development efforts in the unit
Work closely with the medical responsible section manager and a unit physician
You report directly to the operations manager and are part of the operations leadership team. The position involves a limited five-year management assignment with permanent employment in your base profession.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for someone with a nursing education, preferably with previous management experience. Experience in cardiac care, acute and intensive care, as well as academic background such as master's or doctoral degree is advantageous.
For the nursing unit manager role, we are seeking a clear and confident leader who, through openness, dialogue, and strong collaboration skills—both internally and externally—contributes to advancing the operations. You have a strong drive and a desire to develop the unit with the goal of creating efficiency and ultimately value for the patient. You have excellent communication skills and an unpretentious approach that creates engagement and participation to inspire and develop others. You have a genuine interest in leading others and the courage to make decisions. You are expected to work toward set goals and follow up on results. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
