Overnight Care Assistant Position for a Young Man in Söndrum

One of our care assistants is moving on, and we're now looking for you: A reliable overnight care assistant for a young man living in Söndrum. Initially 3-6 months, with a strong possibility of a permanent full-time position without an end date. Approximately 35 hours per week with shifts currently scheduled from 21:00-07:30, with some variation. Weekday nights and weekend nights included. He is a cheerful, charming, and kind young man who enjoys nice clothes, playing PlayStation, and maintaining order on the property. He has a CP injury and therefore needs assistance from his care workers around the clock. The assistants are his arms, legs, and voice. He communicates using an eye-tracking computer and body language in a clear way, so you will quickly learn to understand what he wants and is thinking about. The family often takes various day trips. Several times a year they also take longer trips, such as ski vacations in the mountains or to Legoland. Since care assistants accompany them on these trips, it is a requirement that you have the possibility to be away from home for approximately 1 week. Since the young man has dual care coverage during all waking hours, you will work alongside a colleague, even during night shifts. So it's important that you enjoy close teamwork with your colleagues. He has a wonderful group that has fun together both at and outside of work! We're looking for someone who is positive, adaptable to different social situations, and enjoys active and varied work where you will both give and receive a lot of joy. You should not have any physical difficulties, as lifting and assistance with mobility transfers are part of the work. You must also be able to refrain from smoking and strong scents before and during your work shifts. This is because the young man has a severe allergy to scents. We provide approximately 2-3 weeks of introduction so you have plenty of time to learn the work. You will also be offered training in, for example, AAC/eye-tracking computer. Your supervisor is employed on-site within the team, which means close contact and collaboration. Start as soon as possible. For this position, you are required to provide an extract from the criminal record for work with children within LSS. You must also be able to provide two references from previous employment.
