Building and maintaining roads and infrastructure is significant. Contributing to community development is even greater. With us, you get to do both. We hold the trust of the Swedish Transport Administration to manage basic maintenance of the state road network within the Umeå North operational area. We are now seeking two road workers to join our team at Svevia's facility in Umeå. Within Svevia, we combine the community and team spirit of a small company with the stability of a large enterprise. Here you have the opportunity to develop as a specialist in road work - with commitment, collaboration, and responsibility. Your assignment as a road worker We are expanding our team with a road worker! If you are interested in maintaining and caring for roads, this is the position for you. The work consists mainly of operations and maintenance-related tasks connected to Umeå's operational area. As a road worker, no two days are the same, but you are responsible for, among other things, inspecting the road network in the area, reporting any deficiencies and subsequently addressing them - all to create safe and secure roads for our citizens. The tasks are linked to ground maintenance and winter road maintenance as well as minor construction projects. Common assignments include work with clearing saws, sign work, pothole repairs, traffic arrangements, and TMA assignments. The position includes summer and winter on-call duty with responsibility for calling out salt trucks and plow units. During on-call duty, you as a road worker take on a supervisory responsibility and direct work and communication with Svevia's subcontractors. In the position you are supported by close supervision and engaged colleagues. The position is full-time and working hours are normally between 7 AM - 4 PM. During on-call duty, work occurs during all hours of the day, 365 days a year. Who are you? For success in the role of road worker, we see it as a requirement that you have: Interest in road operations and maintenance Class B and Class C driver's licenses Good experience with digital work methods Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written It is advantageous if you have: Experience in road operations and maintenance, construction work, and traffic arrangements Class BE driver's license, Professional Competence Certificate (YKB), and APV training (work on roads) We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. For you to thrive with us, we see that you are a problem-solving person who takes initiative, is self-driven, and good at collaboration. Furthermore, you are engaged, have an open mind, and a willingness to learn new tasks. Winter on-call duty involves calling out subcontractors for anti-slip measures, which places demands on both responsibility and the ability to make decisions in stressful situations. We appreciate order and organization and would like to see that you have good organizational skills. About Svevia Svevia is today Sweden's largest operations contractor. Within operations and maintenance, we manage, among other things, summer and winter road maintenance for half of the state road network. Many municipalities, private companies, and road associations also hire us to take care of their roads and outdoor environments. With us, you contribute to a greater whole. We plow for families heading to the mountains. We ensure that logistics transports reach their destination and keep streets, squares, and parks clean and tidy. We also protect lives on the road through our traffic arrangement services. Why Svevia? With us, you quickly become part of the team and we take care to be a workplace for everyone. Decision-making processes are short and it is easy to make your voice heard. At the same time, you become part of a practical reality and a company where concrete results are created with smoking asphalt machines, large snow plows, and tons of rebar and concrete. With your professional expertise, you can make a difference on the road. And we always put safety first - both with care for your own work environment and others' security. For those who want to take the next step in development, there are many opportunities. Both if you want to deepen your knowledge within your specific area or move into a supervisory position. Together we make city and country function. Would you like to share the road with us? Application and information You apply simply by submitting your CV and answering a few selection questions. Our recruitment process is based on a competence-based approach; this is a prerequisite for recruiting with quality assurance, inclusivity, and without bias.
