About Us
Stora Enso is preparing to separate its Swedish forest assets into a new publicly listed company, Bergslagets Skogar. The company will be listed on Nasdaq Stockholm and Nasdaq Helsinki. The listing is expected to be completed in the first half of 2027. Following the separation, Bergslagets Skogar will own approximately 1.2 million hectares of forest in Sweden, making it Europe's largest pure-play forest company.
Do you want to help develop the infrastructure that forms the foundation for sustainable and efficient forestry? We are now hiring a Road Manager for the Dalarna Region within Bergslagets Skogar.
Your Responsibilities
As Road Manager, you will have a key role in implementing our forest road initiatives from planning to execution, both operationally and strategically. Your work will create the conditions for smooth timber supply and sustainable forest management. You will be responsible for developing, managing, and ensuring functioning infrastructure in the region while working closely with operations, contractors, and other important partners. The role offers a varied working day where you alternate between fieldwork and office work.
You will become part of an engaged team and have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across the region as well as with Road Managers in other parts of the organization. The position reports to the Regional Manager and is located in Falun or Mora.
In this role, you are responsible for planning, prioritizing, and implementing road work within the region, as well as road maintenance, bridges, quarries, and other forest infrastructure. You will supervise, coordinate, and follow up on contracted entrepreneurs and ensure that work is completed with the right quality, high safety standards, and good cost efficiency. The work includes financial planning and cost tracking. You will participate in the long-term development of the region's infrastructure and work closely with planners, contractors, and other parts of the operation. The role also includes work with road cooperatives and subsidized roads, as well as participation in development and digitalization projects in this area.
The work involves regular travel within the region and is distributed between fieldwork and office work depending on season and operational needs.
Your Profile
We are looking for someone with experience in road matters, construction, infrastructure, or forest operations. You have either post-secondary education in forestry, road engineering, or construction, or equivalent knowledge acquired through work experience.
To succeed in this role, you have a good understanding of road construction, road maintenance, or similar operations. You are accustomed to working independently and taking responsibility for entire processes from planning to execution. Furthermore, you have a business-oriented approach, good financial understanding, and enjoy collaborating with both internal and external contacts. A driver's license (category B) is required for this position.
As a person, you are structured, collaboration-oriented, and modest.
