JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
In your role as a Water and Sanitation Engineer, you will have varied days with great freedom to plan your daily work. In collaboration with other colleagues in the water and sanitation department, you will be responsible for technical investigations, planning, and projects, primarily for the water and sanitation network, as well as water supply and treatment plants. The driving force is to ensure access to clean drinking water, clean lakes, and long-term sustainable water services.
One of your main responsibilities is to manage the long-term renewal planning of the network and lead comprehensive investigations for stormwater and water and sanitation expansion projects. You will also participate in planning matters and building permit reviews. A large part of your work will be performed in the mapping system VA-banken.
You will also be able to serve as a project manager throughout the entire project process, from developing tender specifications, procuring contractors, to project implementation and follow-up.
Review of service areas and development of water protection areas can also be tasks that come to your desk.
Work as a Water and Sanitation Engineer involves continuous contact with other colleagues in the municipality, consultants, contractors, subscribers, authorities, and politicians. This requires good communicative and social skills, as well as a commitment to providing excellent service.
To succeed in the role of Water and Sanitation Engineer, you are motivated by having a solution-oriented approach. You are used to working in a structured manner and are skilled at creating and maintaining that structure. QUALIFICATIONS
Education
University or civil engineer degree in water and sanitation, civil engineering, environmental technology, or equivalent
Alternatively, work experience deemed equivalent.
Experience working in the water and sanitation field
Experience working in the water and sanitation field (e.g., design, operations, investigation, or construction management)
Experience leading or participating in projects
It is important that you as an applicant have experience from project work.
Good technical understanding of water and sanitation systems such as networks, water treatment plants, and wastewater treatment plants
Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
B driver's license
Experience from municipal water and sanitation operations
Knowledge of laws and regulations
Knowledge of laws and regulations, such as:
The Public Water Services Act (LAV)
The Environmental Code
Construction contract law (AB/ABT/AMA)
Experience with development projects or water and sanitation expansion
Knowledge in GIS, CAD, or hydraulic modeling
Experience with investment projects and budget responsibility
Project management training or certification
