The Department of Sustainable Development works to enable Region Värmland to meet today's and tomorrow's societal challenges through socially, environmentally and economically sustainable solutions. Here, expertise in sustainability, human rights, environment, innovation and development come together.
The Sustainability Unit initiates, supports and leads assignments in social and environmental sustainability. As a support function, the unit contributes expertise, coordination and development support to translate ambitions, goals and political decisions into concrete action. Operations are responsible for implementation, while the sustainability unit creates conditions for successful and long-term sustainability work.
Job Description
As a sustainability development leader, you work with initiating, coordinating and driving development initiatives in social and environmental sustainability. You are part of the region's support function for sustainable development and contribute knowledge, guidance and methodological support to translate goals, strategies and political decisions into practice.
The role involves creating engagement, building relationships and leading processes together with operations across the organization. You meet operations with different assignments, conditions and perspectives, where employees and managers are experts on their own everyday work. By asking questions, listening and exploring possibilities together, you create conditions for integrating sustainability in a way that feels relevant, value-creating and feasible.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a relevant academic degree in sustainability, change management or another field that the employer considers equivalent.
You have several years of experience with qualified work in the sustainability field and extensive experience driving development work in complex contexts.
To succeed in this role, we see that you have a strong ability to create engagement, participation and alignment among different stakeholders and enjoy developing solutions together with others. You are structured and can plan, prioritize and follow up work toward established goals.
You are clear and pedagogical and have the ability to make complex issues understandable and relevant for different audiences. You contribute to learning, knowledge sharing and development by utilizing different experiences and perspectives.
