Description Be part of shaping the schools of the future in Göteborg together with us! Every day, nearly 140 municipal elementary schools welcome thousands of children and young people who together with us are building Göteborg's future. Now we're looking for you to help develop the physical learning environments where students grow, learn, and develop. As a development leader for physical learning environments, you'll have a key role in creating sustainable, functional, and inspiring school environments for today's and tomorrow's students. Here you'll have the opportunity to influence from idea to completed school and contribute to ensuring that every investment creates the best possible conditions for learning. The unit is responsible for ensuring that the elementary school board's facility supply is long-term sustainable and in balance. This means that school facilities should be appropriately sized, well-located, and adapted to the needs of the operations over time. On the unit, we are a team of approximately 20 people with broad expertise in facility management, facility planning, and project development, working together to create Göteborg's school environments of the future. Work Tasks Göteborg faces a demographic challenge where student numbers are declining and facility costs are increasing. We're therefore looking for a development leader for the Facility Management unit who wants to take on this challenge and work strategically and operatively to ensure that elementary school facilities meet operational needs today and in the future. You'll be an important representative for the school's operations in renovation, expansion, and new construction projects, working closely with project managers, architects, property managers, and school leaders. In this role, you'll be responsible for: Driving and developing work with sustainable and pedagogically well-functioning learning environments. Participating in early needs analyses and procurement for building projects. Ensuring that facilities and outdoor environments are designed based on operational needs. Representing the elementary school administration in building and development projects. Collaborating with project managers, property managers, architects, and other specialists. Assisting with procurement and development of furniture and equipment. Following up on and evaluating project results, quality, and goal fulfillment. Contributing to the development of the administration's processes for facility management and learning environments. You work at the intersection of education, real estate, urban development, and operations development. This makes you an important link between different areas of expertise and interests, with a focus on creating the best conditions for students and staff. Qualifications We're looking for someone with higher education in, for example, urban development, facility planning, real estate development, construction, architecture, project management, or other education that the employer considers relevant. You also have: Experience with facility planning, project management, building processes, or similar assignments. Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders, such as architects, project managers, and property managers. Good understanding of complex processes and the ability to translate needs into feasible solutions. Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish. Good ability to understand and apply digital work methods and analyze how technology, facilities, and operational needs interact to create fit-for-purpose learning environments. Meritorious Experience with new construction, expansion, and renovation projects. Experience from real estate or facility management sectors. Project management training. Knowledge of furniture and equipment planning. Experience with procurement. Experience from public operations or politically governed organizations. Knowledge of real estate economics and investments. Who Are You? To succeed in this role, you need to be strategic, structured, and analytical. You see the bigger picture while having the ability to drive details toward goals. You find it easy to build trusting collaborations and thrive in a role where you need to navigate between different perspectives and interests. Success in this role requires strong communication skills. You're initiative-driven, development-oriented, and motivated by creating long-term solutions that make a real difference for operations. Above all, you're driven by creating environments where people can succeed. Does this sound like the right role for you? Don't hesitate to submit your application. Interviews will take place primarily during week 41. Other Information Göteborg's City applies individual and differentiated salary setting.
