About the Role
As a Development Engineer in our Hägglunds team, you will work with the development of our drive systems – motors, control systems, accessories, and assemblies. You'll become part of our internal consulting operation alongside several experienced colleagues, which means varied work where you contribute to multiple cross-functional and technology-intensive projects across our entire product portfolio.
The role involves you having an important part in developing and improving our current and future products. You participate throughout the product lifecycle – from early concept studies and new development to further development and phase-out – and provide technical decision-making support that affects both design and performance.
You'll work in a family-oriented environment with close collaboration between development, testing, production, and other internal functions, as well as with external and international contacts. In Mellansel, we have access to one of Europe's largest hydraulic research laboratories for testing and verification, as well as a state-of-the-art workshop directly adjacent to the development department. This creates unique opportunities to combine analysis and theory with practical testing in your daily work.
Your main responsibilities:
Independently develop and present technical decision-making documentation in design and development matters where simulations and calculations may be part of the work
Participate in development projects in close collaboration with designers, testing, and other functions
Document and communicate results, both verbally and in writing
Requirements
We're looking for someone with:
Civil or engineering degree in a relevant technical field
Knowledge of Swedish and English, spoken and written
Experience working in CAD environments, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar
Experience in development work is a merit
Experience with Matlab or similar is a merit
We believe you have a genuine interest in product development and technology. You are structured and have the ability to plan your work in a way that allows you to deliver quality results within given timeframes.
The role involves many internal and external contact points, which requires you to be communicative, collaborative, and comfortable working with others. We value that you are curious about new technology, thorough in your work, and have an eye for detail.
