Within the special education support operational area, we work to ensure that our special education support creates conditions for all children, students, and adult learners with disabilities to have access to equitable education and other activities of good quality in a safe environment. We complement the municipalities' and schools' own special education resources. The support we offer can relate to the individual's learning, educators' work, or activities and organization.
The State Grants Unit at SPSM distributes grants to school authorities, public actors, and private individuals. Our grants are directed toward children, students, and adult learners with disabilities to provide them with support.

WORK TASKS
The State Grants Unit is seeking an investigator who will work with grant administration and monitoring. The position is time-limited, 12 months.
About the role
We are seeking an investigator for the State Grants Unit who will administer state grants and, when needed, lead and contribute to development work related to one or more state grant processes.
In this role, you will work with several parts of the grant process. You provide information and support to grant applicants, handle and assess applications, conduct audits, and are responsible for monitoring and developing state grant operations. You will work closely with colleagues while being expected to take own initiatives and work independently. Part of the work is administrative and takes place in the authority's existing system support. The unit is working to develop new system support for grant management.
During your employment, you may work with:
• administering state grants
• working with control and audit of disbursed grants
• analyzing large datasets, primarily in Excel
• developing texts and decision documentation relating to different parts of grant processes
• developing and creating procedures for grant administration
• contributing to the work of developing the authority's system support for state grants
• monitoring and developing state grants over time
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who have:
• an academic degree in social sciences or another area that SPSM considers relevant
• several years of experience in grant administration (assessment, distribution, monitoring, decisions)
• experience auditing whether grant recipients have used approved funds in accordance with decided conditions, purpose, and regulations
• very strong ability to express yourself in writing and to produce qualified and well-structured texts, analyses, and decision documentation
• very strong experience working in digital systems and handling large datasets
• ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive work forward in a structured manner
It is meritorious if you have:
• experience independently planning, conducting, and compiling monitoring or evaluations. For example, data collection, analysis work, and reporting of results
• experience working in the school system at authority or administrative level
• experience with system development for state grant administration
• experience working with AI-related opportunities in administrative processes
• good knowledge of the Administrative Procedure Act
• experience in state grant administration within a grant-awarding authority
