Our Workplace The Monitoring and Control Unit is part of the Business Area Correct Payments and we have overall responsibility for the agency's control activities. Our work includes monitoring, developing, and shaping the Swedish Public Employment Service's control mandate, as well as working against improper payments, welfare fraud, and workplace crime. The unit works to prevent, detect, investigate, and follow up on improper payments, combat benefit fraud and fraud, and recover incorrectly paid benefits. The unit consists of six sections with approximately 100 employees in locations such as Falun, Kristinehamn, Kalmar, and Solna. Do you want to help protect the welfare system? Job Description As an investigator, you are expected to independently, and in groups, investigate cases with suspicion of improper payments and welfare fraud. You have good analytical skills and can identify connections, evaluate information, and draw well-founded conclusions in complex cases. You have the ability to identify needs and take initiatives on your own to move the work forward. You can work independently based on current guidelines while collaborating with other parts of the organization. You have good communication skills, both verbal and written, and can create trusting and long-term relationships with people in your environment. We are looking for someone who works in a structured and methodical manner and can interpret and apply current regulations and decisions. You take responsibility for your tasks, can handle multiple tasks in parallel, and collaborate well with others. You are unpretentious, positive, and service-oriented. Read more about our organization and our mission on our website More about working with us Basic Qualifications University education of at least 180 higher education credits (120 credits according to the previous system) in a relevant field for the position, for example with a focus on economics or law At least one year of work experience in the past five years of qualified investigation work, i.e., more complicated investigations requiring a high degree of judgment Work experience in applying regulations Good knowledge of Swedish, that is, good ability to communicate verbally and in writing, as well as high reading comprehension Other Merits for the Position Work experience investigating and making decisions regarding improper payments from welfare systems to companies or investigating economic crime Experience reviewing and analyzing companies' financial information, such as annual reports, accounting records, and financial reports, to understand the business's financial situation and identify deviations or irregularities.
