The Department of Political Science is a dynamic and strong educational and research institution at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Stockholm University. Duties The position involves conducting teaching in the field of political science, as well as certain administrative tasks at the Centre for Global Asian Studies, Department of Political Science. The teaching covered by the employment is specifically: International Master´s Programme in Political Science with Specialization in Global Asian Studies. Teaching may also include: Courses taught in English in Political Science II and III. Political Science I, II and III. Qualifications To be eligible for employment as a university lecturer, you must have demonstrated pedagogical aptitude and hold a doctoral degree in political science or have equivalent scientific competence. All teaching positions at Stockholm University require that the applicant has the ability to collaborate and is otherwise suitable for performing the duties. Since teaching is conducted in English, the applicant must be proficient in English at a very high level, both orally and in writing. The applicant is expected to conduct independent political science research with a focus on Southeast Asia. Assessment Criteria Particular and equal weight will be given to scientific and pedagogical aptitude, especially in the areas covered by the teaching. Administrative skills and the ability to collaborate with surrounding society will also be considered. Particular weight will be given to scientific aptitude demonstrated through independent political science research in the field of Southeast Asia, and advanced knowledge of the countries in the region is considered meritorious. Higher education pedagogy training of at least 15 credits or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways is considered meritorious. About the Position The position is part-time at 45 percent and is limited-term until 2027-03-31. Start as soon as possible.
