The Department of Economics and Mathematics conducts education and research in business economics, economics, industrial economics, statistics and commercial law, as well as in mathematics/applied mathematics and physics in both national and international environments. Teaching also includes supervision, examination, course evaluation, and course development. With us, research and education are closely interwoven, and research forms the foundation of our education programs. Collaboration is also an integrated part of our research and education mission, and as a University Lecturer you actively contribute to the university's development work. Your duties also include general administration, professional development, and participation in daily operations, departmental and institutional work. The position includes teaching and examination in physics at both preparatory and undergraduate levels. Your duties also encompass assignments as course responsible and examiner, as well as development work within physics courses and educational programs that include physics. Additionally, the position includes research within physics, including work on applications for external research funding. The position also involves contributing to collaboration and co-production with surrounding society. Work duties may be performed at the university's two campuses, Västerås and Eskilstuna, as well as remotely. The position may also include future administrative and management-related duties, such as program representative, program coordinator, or subject representative. Eligibility Requirements We are seeking someone who has demonstrated pedagogical skills and has obtained a doctoral degree or equivalent scientific competence. Scientific and pedagogical skills must be documented in such a way that the quality of previous work can be assessed. For employment as a teacher at MDU, higher education pedagogy education or equivalent knowledge is required. Those who are hired but lack higher education pedagogy education will be offered the opportunity to complete such education during the employment within two and a half years. The higher education pedagogy education at Mälardalen University corresponds to ten weeks of education. For this position, the following eligibility requirements apply, in addition to those established in the Employment Regulations at MDU. To be eligible for the position, you must have obtained a doctoral degree in physics. Additional requirements for employment are documented ability to plan and conduct research, as well as publish and communicate research within the subject area. The research must be internationally recognized, primarily through peer-reviewed publications. The candidate must be able to express themselves well in speech and writing in Swedish.
