About the job Would you like to make a difference in young people's lives? Sambuh consists of a small HVB with four places and 19 apartments for supported housing in integrated units primarily around Hisingen. The target group is young people between 16-20 years old who for various reasons cannot live at home. Sambuh has a work team where all staff have significant commitment and knowledge of social work and therapeutic youth work. As a youth secretary, you are a contact person for 3-4 young people and provide them with both emotional support and practical support based on the resources and needs of each individual. Collaboration with social services authorities, schools, and healthcare is an important part of the role. The organization's mission is to provide young people with the right support so they become secure and independent adults when they leave us. Our services meet people at an important time in their lives—a time of identity formation and learning independence. Those who come to us need support in different life areas: relationships, information about society, mental/physical health, support in schooling, and/or employment. We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference in young people's lives. It is therefore of utmost importance that you have the ability to build trusting relationships with young people while setting boundaries in a gentle way. You need to be secure in yourself so you can take responsibility for the organization's routines while also having the ability to adapt depending on what the situation requires. Sambuh HVB and Supported Housing is a workplace where good communication is necessary—you need to be willing and able to collaborate. In working with young people, we use the methods MI (Motivational Interviewing), LAB (Low Arousal Approach), and TMO (Trauma-Informed Care). Practical tasks are part of the role, such as preparing apartments when someone moves, driving young people to important appointments, and supporting young people in maintaining their homes. The organization documents in the digital system Treserva, and it is important that documentation is both legally sound and based on an ethical approach. In addition to meaningful work, you will be offered an engaged and competent team and close support and supervision from the manager on-site. You will participate in the workplace's safety committee, team meetings, supervision, and relevant training. Working hours are scheduled, including days, evenings, and every fourth weekend. About you As an applicant, you need to have a strong interest in social work with young people. A prerequisite is that you have a degree in social work (socionom) or another university or college degree that the employer considers equivalent. You also need to have a B-class driver's license and experience in social work. You work well with others by listening, showing interest and respect. You understand the shared mission and work to make it as good as possible. You are friendly and helpful to other people even in stressful situations. You show respect for everyone you meet at work. You are welcoming and positive. You work to ensure that young people receive the support they need. You take responsibility for your work tasks and the team's work tasks. You think about those we serve and their best interests. You do your best to complete all work tasks correctly and follow up on how it went. You bring new ideas and perspectives to work and to solving problems. You are curious and encourage dialogue and questions, and you can see more than one possible solution. Your creativity can be put into practice and leads to results. According to the Act (2007:171) on background checks of staff at certain facilities receiving children, a certificate from the police register must be presented by persons before they are employed at HVB homes. You can order this on the Police website. Other information In this recruitment process, we will not ask for a cover letter. Instead, during the application process, you will be asked to answer several questions about your competence in the requested area. To comply with GDPR requirements and enable good communication with our applicants, we ask you to submit your application digitally and not via email or mail.
