Your responsibilities We are now seeking two committed and driven Youth Coaches who want to help create meaningful leisure time and support young people in their personal development. In the role of Youth Coach, you are responsible for enabling youth participation and influence and self-determination over their leisure time. The assignment includes coaching young people and motivating them toward self-organization. You will collaborate with municipal activities, associations, and organizations to organize sustainable activities for our target group. Furthermore, you will be involved in developing and advancing Ung Zon. With us, you will be part of an engaged team that is passionate about working with young people and has strong faith in their abilities. Working hours are arranged according to the young people's needs, which means that the main working hours are in the afternoon, evening, and weekends. In practice, this means two weekday evenings per week plus every other Friday and Saturday evening. Your workplace Ung Zon is a newly established youth activity where young people between 13 and 18 years old can meet, socialize, and develop together. Ung Zon is a merger of various youth activities with the aim of creating a stronger and more unified voice for young people in Linköping. By offering a broad range of activities and opportunities, all young people, regardless of background or interest, should have a place where they can develop and feel safe. Through collaboration with associations, community organizations, and civil society, we open new paths and create conditions for youth self-organization. The activity is based on a promoting approach where we place great emphasis on safety and security work. Ung Zon operates in the areas of Berga, Ekholmen, Lambohov, Linghem, Ljungsbro, Malmslätt, Ryd, Skäggetorp, and at Arbis, as well as a mobile youth activity. The two Youth Coaches we are seeking will work in different teams and currently have different placements. UngTopia - Activity for young people ages 13-25 with disabilities at Arbis facilities. There is also Liquid, an activity for young people who identify as HBTQI+. Ung Zon - with placement in one of our areas, or LinGo - A mobile team that meets young people ages 13-18 in areas where there is little or no recreational offering today. This means you move around and are at different meeting places at different times, which is why a driver's license is desirable. This could be, for example, a university or vocational college education as a recreation leader, social pedagogue, behavioral scientist, or society and cultural analyst, or a folk high school education that the employer deems relevant. Since the role involves much contact and documentation, you must have good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing. We value that you have previous experience working with youth activities and that you are used to leading, coaching, and planning activities together with young people. It is an advantage if you have experience working with and meeting young people within NPF as well as within HBTQI+. We also see it as an advantage if you have knowledge of low-arousal interaction and hold a category B driver's license. It is also desirable if you have knowledge of motor and EPA culture. To succeed in this role, you have personal maturity and good collaboration skills. You are a relationship-building person with motivating leadership that creates engagement in others. With your pedagogical insight, you adapt your communication to the recipient, and your flexibility means you thrive with changed circumstances and see opportunities in challenges.
