Konstfrämjandet Småland is seeking a young project manager (15–25 years old) for the newly launched project Young Smålandstriennalen.
Young Smålandstriennalen is a youth-driven democracy and art project aimed at strengthening young people's long-term influence over the development of art life in Småland and Öland. During the project, young people will organize themselves in local groups, build regional networks, and develop ideas for how the future art scene can become more relevant, accessible, and inclusive.
We're looking for you to help build the project from the ground up together with other young people. You don't need to be an experienced project manager when you start – this is an opportunity to learn by doing. You will work closely with an experienced project administrator who will serve as mentor, support, and sounding board throughout the project.
The project is conducted with support from the Swedish Agency for Youth and Civil Society Issues (MUCF) and in collaboration with several of the region's leading art institutions.
About the Position
This is a fixed-term position at 50 percent employment from November 2026 to November 2027 with a base salary of 28000kr.
Work takes place both digitally and on-site throughout Småland and Öland. Evening and weekend work occurs in connection with meetings, workshops, trips, and events.
Responsibilities
As a young project manager, you will:
Help plan, implement, and develop the project's activities.
Build connections with young participants in Småland and Öland.
Organize local meetings, workshops, and networking events.
Coordinate and support local youth groups.
Work with communication and social media.
Participate in meetings with art institutions, artists, cultural actors, and other partners.
Document the project's activities and results.
Help develop proposals for how young people can have greater influence over the development of art life.
Participate in conferences, exhibitions, seminars, and public presentations.
We're Looking for Someone Who
Is between 15 and 25 years old.
Lives in Småland or Öland.
Is interested in art, social issues, democracy, or organizing.
Is curious about how the professional art world works.
Enjoys collaborating with other people.
Takes initiative easily and can turn ideas into practice.
Is responsible and wants to develop as a leader.
We place great emphasis on personal engagement and motivation.
It's a plus if you
Have your own artistic practice in areas such as visual art, photography, film, writing, performance, crafts, or other artistic expression.
Have previously participated in or worked with youth projects.
Have experience in associative or volunteer work.
Have been active in a student council, youth council, student union, or similar democratic context.
Have been engaged in a political youth organization or other member-driven organization.
Have experience organizing exhibitions, concerts, festivals, workshops, or other public activities.
Have experience with social media, communication, or content production.
Have a driver's license.
