Job Responsibilities The clinic operates on a drop-in basis only, which means your workday can vary and you need to be able to meet and prioritize based on the patient's immediate needs. As a nursing assistant, you work with varied clinic tasks. This includes blood draws, wound dressing changes, medical checks, support and advice, and motivating people to stop using addictive substances. Part of the operation is needle exchange services. There you meet, among others, people who inject drugs and work on exchanging injection equipment and other disease prevention measures. An important part of the work is building trust and developing relationships over time. You meet people with different experiences and life situations and need to be able to have an open and non-judgmental approach. Respectful and professional conduct is therefore a central part of the role. About the Workplace The Low-Threshold Clinic is a service within adult psychiatry and offers accessible care to people who might otherwise struggle to access healthcare. The operation should be characterized by accessibility, non-judgment, and supportive and motivating approaches. The target group is adults aged 18+ experiencing homelessness and vulnerability, including people with harmful substance use and addiction, as well as people who inject drugs. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. A B driver's license is a requirement because the work involves being able to reach patients and collaborating partners at different locations. It is an advantage if you have training in motivational interviewing (MI), as well as experience working with people experiencing homelessness, substance use problems, or social vulnerability. Experience in infectious disease care or primary care is also considered an advantage, as is knowledge of the Cosmic patient record system.
