The Psychiatric Clinic at Norrland University Hospital in Umeå is Norrland's largest psychiatric clinic with over 400 employees. We have three general psychiatric care units, forensic psychiatric services, and several specialized outpatient and treatment units.

The Psychiatric Clinic's operations are located in a building where the care environment is characterized by the understanding of the care environment's importance for promoting health. Living and working environments are supported by modern technology and research, which is evident in the lighting and communication systems. The clinic is climate-smart through self-sufficiency in electricity and heating, among other things. Close to the clinic there are both bus and train stations, making it easy to commute to and from work.
We are now recruiting Nursing Assistants/Caregivers for
Care Unit 2 is a general psychiatric unit with acute admission for patients with psychotic disorders, affective diagnoses, and patients over 60 years of age.
The unit has 16 care beds and cares for both voluntary and involuntary patients. On unit 2, we work with person-centered nursing care with the goal of focusing on the development and improvement of the care environment, nursing care, and inpatient treatment interventions for the patient groups we serve.
Within inpatient care, collaboration occurs and it may happen that patients from other units within Psychiatry have their care placement on this unit.
On the care unit, doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants/caregivers work together. We work as a team around the patient and have close collaboration within the clinic, neighboring units, and with family members, outpatient care, and the municipality.
During employment on the unit, there are also opportunities for internal and external training as well as coordinating assignments both within your own unit and on a clinic-wide level.

JOB DUTIES
As a nursing assistant/caregiver with us, you contribute to taking good care of others and helping people feel better.
The work involves close collaboration with colleagues.
Daily tasks include participating in assessing and identifying specific nursing care needs of individual patients. Based on this, care plans are developed and created together with nurses and doctors for the care team's acute interventions and evaluation of these. The work will also involve participation in developing, implementing, and evaluating specific nursing care strategies.
The unit's nursing assistants/caregivers are responsible for patients' meal planning, activities of daily living (ADL), specimen collection, and daily activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you with an approved nursing care education as a nursing assistant. Since nursing assistant is a protected title, you must provide a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare, or alternatively a service certificate that means you are covered by the National Board of Health and Welfare's transitional provisions and can use the title until June 30, 2033.
It is meritorious if you have psychiatry as a specialization from your education or have previously worked in psychiatric care and/or round-the-clock care, but this is not a requirement.
You have a genuine interest in meeting people with psychiatric diagnoses in their treatment, nursing care, and daily lives. You promote good treatment and can communicate clearly with both colleagues and patients and can adapt to different situations.
Great emphasis is placed on suitability.
