We primarily care for patients with advanced colorectal cancer or inflammatory bowel disease. Several of the procedures and treatments we perform are offered by only a few, or are unique to, our unit in the country. We care for both patients who have undergone planned operations and patients who seek emergency care, which means that as a nursing assistant you have great opportunity for a varied workday. About the Position As a nursing assistant with us, you will be responsible, together with registered nurses, for patient care before and after surgery. We work in teams and you will have close collaboration with nurses, nursing assistants, physicians, and other specialized functions. Supporting the care staff on the ward are both advanced specialist nurses and senior nurses. Senior nurses serve as a resource in care. They support new staff and assist with advanced care interventions. Our advanced specialist nurses ensure continuity of care and assist with advanced patient assessments. As a new nursing assistant with us, you will receive at least 5 weeks of introduction. We want to ensure that as a new employee you feel secure before you start working independently, and we always customize the orientation based on your needs. You are expected to participate in an introduction program during your first year consisting of: Observing operations to gain insight into both open and laparoscopic colorectal surgery. Observing some of our outpatient clinics to understand the care pathway before and after surgery. We also offer you the opportunity to deepen your surgical knowledge through our regional training module in surgery. We place great emphasis on our employees' participation and well-being. We have scheduled reflection sessions and use individual scheduling, which means you can largely control your own working hours. We offer both a permanent position and a fixed-term contract of approximately 1 year. Who Are We Looking For? We are seeking someone trained as a nursing assistant, preferably with previous experience in acute care and/or surgical, postoperative, or intensive care. Hospital experience is an advantage. To thrive with us, we would like to see someone who is solution-oriented and has good social skills. You collaborate easily, have high flexibility, and are a stable person who maintains composure even in acute situations. Good knowledge of the Swedish language is required.
