Together with a registered nurse, you will work as a team to ensure the patient's needs are met, take measures to relieve symptoms, and contribute to a good quality of life for the patient and peace of mind for their loved ones. Many patients come directly from hospitals or palliative care teams, and you need to feel confident caring for seriously ill patients. Your responsibilities include planning, implementing, documenting, and following up on care work. Supportive conversations with both patients and loved ones can provide increased peace of mind and are an important part of your work. Some tasks are performed under delegation from licensed personnel. Experience in palliative care is a requirement. Work at a hospice requires a high level of confidence and security in your professional role, and to work with us you need to have long and broad documented experience from healthcare. You need to feel confident with medical technical equipment and performing comprehensive care interventions in your daily work. Desirable qualifications: It is strongly desirable if you have specialist training (YH education of 200 credits) for nursing assistants in palliative care. Additionally, it is desirable that you have worked in various areas within inpatient care. Personal qualities: You have a strong interest in palliative care and are driven by a desire to create something special for our patients during their final time. Since the work is team-based, you need to thrive working in a team while also being comfortable working independently. You are an engaged and positive colleague who contributes to a good work environment. A very important part of the work involves meeting with patients and their loved ones. You have good interpersonal skills where you show respect, consideration, and empathy. You have good collaboration skills and can independently oversee, prioritize, and carry out your tasks.
