Relationship-building and communicative bilingual special education teacher/special educator in English and Swedish

About the Position
As a special education teacher/special educator at ESG, you play a central role in the school's student well-being and development work. Together with the school's social pedagogue/counselor, you are responsible for the school's Studio, where you lead a small group based on calm, structure, and specialized support. Your main responsibilities also include contributing through guidance and special education interventions to ensure that other students have the best possible conditions to achieve the curriculum's objectives.
Responsibilities
In your role as special education teacher/educator, you will, among other things:
Work preventatively and proactively to increase goal achievement.
Conduct screenings, assessments, analyses, and follow-ups.
Participate in pedagogical evaluations and intervention programs.
Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback.
Provide specialized educational support in classrooms and in small teaching groups.
Work with students at risk of not meeting academic standards through, for example, intensive reading instruction and language support.
Collaborate closely with the student well-being team and school leadership as part of the school's systematic quality work.
Provide instruction within the school's vacation program when needed.
Support and guide teachers regarding accommodations and specialized support, language and academic development approaches, learning environments, and specialized pedagogical strategies and methods.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
Holds a teaching certification with a specialization in special education or special pedagogy.
Has strong knowledge of language and academically developmental teaching approaches.
Speaks and has strong language skills in both English and Swedish.
Has experience with special education work in primary school.
Is confident in mentoring and collaborating with colleagues.
Is comfortable working in a bilingual environment where both Swedish and English are used as languages of instruction.
Has a solution-focused and inclusive approach.
Is organized, communicative, flexible, and has strong collaboration skills.
