Welcome to us
Liljeholmens Gymnasium is a school with language introduction (IMS) and individual alternative (IMA) programs. The school also has a special education profile and a program focused on students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The school has continuous enrollment of students to the language introduction program throughout the year. We offer instruction in Swedish as a Second Language for newly arrived young people ages 16-19. Here, over 300 students speak 50 different languages. The foundation of the school's work is responsibility, respect, and collaboration. We are a school that puts both students and staff at the center. This means we believe we perform best when we work together. We learn together and grow together.
We are now seeking two committed SVA teachers for fixed-term positions starting immediately through June 15, 2027.

Your role
As a teacher, you are responsible for planning, teaching, evaluating, and developing pedagogical work. You are part of a collegium where you collaborate in various constellations with colleagues. The work is an important part of collegial learning to create new and deeper knowledge. All students take the same courses but have naturally progressed to different levels depending on different conditions. As a teacher, you need to adapt your instruction so that students have the opportunity to both change pace and study rate.
Your competence and experience
We welcome you who have a strong interest in working with newly arrived people from all corners of the world, and we are looking for someone who:
is a certified teacher with authorization to teach Swedish as a Second Language (SVA) up to grade 9
has experience working with and teaching newly arrived students.
It is meritious if you have:
taught SVA in introduction programs and/or language introduction programs
authorization in an additional subject, such as mathematics or English.
You have the ability to design instruction in accordance with curricula, subject plans, and current knowledge requirements. You take responsibility for and have insight into students' results and needs, and you structure and adapt your instruction so that a safe and adequate learning environment is created. Furthermore, you are confident, stable, have self-awareness, and are a clear leader in the classroom. We want you to be open to varied working methods, collaboration, and school development. Additionally, you have excellent pedagogical insights and an understanding of how people acquire knowledge in different ways.
