Ålands centralsjukhus Ålands hälso- och sjukvård (ÅHS) can, in collaboration with Akademiska sjukhuset in Uppsala, offer AT training on Åland. ÅHS is responsible for all public healthcare on Åland with the Åland provincial government as the principal. Just over 30,000 people live on Åland, and ÅHS, with approximately 1,000 employees, is one of the region's largest employers. Our doctors, healthcare personnel, dentists, various types of therapists, and other specialist and support staff together form a creative and knowledge-oriented organization. The hospital is small, but the operations are comprehensive and efficient. We are recruiting three AT-blocks lasting 19 months with clinical service at Ålands centralsjukhus. The block also includes service at our two health centers on Åland. Theoretical training takes place at Akademiska sjukhuset and at Ålands centralsjukhus. The block includes: - Internal medicine specialties 5.5 months - Surgical specialties 4.5 months - Psychiatry 3 months - General practice at an Åland health center 6 months Your Qualifications Applicants must have completed the medical degree program in Sweden. You must have your degree certificate when you take office. Before your service begins, you must apply for time-limited licensure as a physician in Finland via Valvira.fi Only applicants with a medical degree from Sweden have the opportunity to complete AT on Åland. Merits In this recruitment, previous locum work is a merit, with emergency duty experience being particularly meritorious. Other experience where you have developed the competencies we are seeking may be a merit. Previous locum work in healthcare on Åland is a merit. Selection will be made through a combination of formal qualifications and interviews. Your Competence As a person, you are thorough, structured, and willing to take significant responsibility as an AT physician. You are also flexible, have self-awareness, good collaboration skills, and sound judgment. We seek committed and motivated physicians who understand what it means to complete AT at a smaller hospital with higher on-call duties and great development potential under supervision.
