JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Do you have a passion for reading, love working with people, and are driven by service excellence? Then perhaps you are the person we are looking for as a temporary librarian at our libraries. The library organization in Karlskrona Municipality is the region's largest and consists of one main library, seven fixed library units, and one mobile library. The organization has approximately thirty employees and now we are looking for a temporary librarian who can help us deliver excellent service to our visitors. As a temporary librarian, you will be offered work as needed at one of our libraries. You will be the first person our users meet when they visit the library and therefore it is extremely important that you enjoy working with people, are driven by good service, and are flexible. Staffing duties include, among other things, lending media where you support visitors in finding and borrowing books and other media they request. We also support people with digital matters and work in digital systems ourselves, which makes it important that you have good computer skills. As an employee with us, you are the library's and municipality's ultimate representative to our visitors. Therefore, we place great emphasis on service and courtesy. In this position you will meet children, adults, and visitors with disabilities. We are looking for someone who collaborates easily, is proactive, organized, and solution-oriented. We place great importance on personal suitability. Working hours / Duration Temporary position starting 2026-09-21 or until 2027-01-10. QUALIFICATIONS It is meritorious if you have a degree in library and information science, education the employer considers equivalent, or have previously worked at a library. You should have knowledge of the public library's role in society and the tasks the library has. You have an easy time learning digital systems. You should be able to express yourself well in speech and writing and have the ability to create good interactions. B driving license is required. Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
