About the Staffing Unit Lerum Municipality's Staffing Unit employs temporary workers to cover absences of regular staff. This can be for shorter or longer periods. As a temporary worker, you are employed on an intermittent basis and receive work shift inquiries on an ongoing basis. Inquiries may come the same day or with longer notice. Through a digital booking system, you indicate your availability and can submit interest applications for work shifts. Before you start, you will receive an introduction in one of our large kitchens. Work shifts are scheduled during daytime on weekdays. Weekend shifts may also occur in the kitchens at our elderly care facilities. Shift lengths vary, but the minimum is 4 hours. 2 position(s). WORK DUTIES You contribute to making every meal a positive experience for our guests. As a cook, you are responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving nutritious and well-prepared meals with quality and care as the focus. We have a straightforward working approach in our kitchens and help each other with tasks. Work takes place primarily in large kitchens, but also in smaller kitchens for those with more extensive cooking experience. Your work duties: • Prepare and cook meals according to menu and dietary policies • Serve food and provide good service to our guests • Common tasks such as dishwashing, cleaning, and self-inspection • Work in accordance with the municipality's vision focusing on organic purchases, reduced food waste, and climate-smart meals QUALIFICATIONS Who are you? We are looking for someone who is independent, service-oriented, and responsible. You work in a structured manner, collaborate well with others, and have the ability to switch between different tasks without compromising quality or pace. You take responsibility, are proactive, and see what needs to be done whether you work in a team or independently. Collaboration and a straightforward approach are important to you, and you have a good ability to adapt to different kitchens and routines. Qualifications: • At least three years of experience working independently as a cook in several different kitchens. Alternatively, you are a trained cook with at least one year of relevant professional experience • Documented knowledge/training in food hygiene and self-inspection • Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written • Basic computer skills Desirable qualifications include training in special diets and experience as a cook in large kitchens.
