At Ljungby Hospital, cooks and kitchen assistants work together to prepare and serve delicious, nutritious, and sustainable meals. The work takes place both in the kitchen and in Restaurant Ljungrätten, which means that as a kitchen assistant, you may work in both parts of the operation. You will become part of a work team with different experiences and skills, where collaboration and shared responsibility are important. We support each other in daily work and together contribute to a pleasant and well-functioning environment for patients, guests, and colleagues. Region Kronoberg's restaurant operation consists of approximately 90 employees and serves sustainable meals with a large proportion of organic ingredients. WORK DUTIES As a cook or kitchen assistant, you are an important part of providing our patients and restaurant guests with delicious and nutritious meals. Your work duties are varied and can be performed both in the kitchen and in Restaurant Ljungrätten. In the kitchen, your duties may include: • Cooking and meal preparation • Preparation of raw vegetables • Packing and delivery of supplies to hospital wards • Dishwashing and cleaning of kitchen equipment and work surfaces • Self-inspection and other recurring kitchen duties In Restaurant Ljungrätten, your duties may include: • Serving • Cash register work • Preparations for service • Dishwashing, cleaning, and organization in the restaurant • Other recurring duties in the restaurant operation The work is varied and sometimes intense. You will be on your feet for much of the workday, and the job may also involve some heavy lifting. Depending on experience and need, you may also have the opportunity to introduce and mentor new colleagues or contribute to the development of the operation. You will be paid hourly and work will be offered based on operational needs. Working hours are scheduled between 07:00 - 17:00. We would like you to be able to work approximately 2-3 shifts per week. This position is a good fit for you if, for example, you are studying, have another job, are job hunting, or have another primary occupation and want to supplement with extra work. We would like you to be able to start relatively soon and continue working with us through fall/spring 2027. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who is meticulous, flexible, and enjoys working with others. You have a service-oriented work approach and take responsibility for completing your duties in a safe and high-quality manner. You have a good eye for hygiene and order and understand the importance of following procedures for safe food handling. You treat patients, guests, and colleagues with respect and consideration. We value someone who is attentive, helpful, and unpretentious and who contributes to good teamwork. You also need to be able to adapt when tasks and work pace change and be willing to help where needed. We would like you to have experience from a restaurant, commercial kitchen, or similar operation, as well as basic knowledge of food hygiene, special diets, and allergens.
