At the South Bohemian Theater, we don't just create performances—we create entire worlds. To transform artistic designs into functional sets, scenery, and props, we're looking for a technologist who can bridge creativity with technical solutions in our production workshops.
You will be the one who transforms artistic designs into stage sets and scenic elements that come alive on stage every evening.
What will your responsibilities include?
- Processing production and technical drawings based on scenographers' designs,
- Converting artistic designs into technically feasible solutions,
- Proposing constructions and suitable materials,
- Preparing technical documentation for individual production workshops,
- Communication with suppliers and production teams,
- Collaboration with masters, craftspeople, and production managers,
- Consulting on technical solutions directly in production,
- Finding smart and practical solutions even for unconventional assignments,
- Surveying and adjusting constructions based on actual conditions.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has technical thinking and good spatial visualization,
- Is experienced in mechanical engineering, construction, materials, or a related technical field,
- Can read technical documentation and create production drawings,
- Works with CAD programs—experience with SolidWorks is an advantage; if you haven't worked with it yet, we're happy to train you,
- Can think not only about the drawing but also about how the product will actually be manufactured,
- Enjoys communicating with people and isn't afraid to solve issues directly in the workshop,
- Is independent, careful, and looks for solutions instead of focusing on problems,
- Is interested in diverse work where each project is unique.
