We are now seeking a systems technician specializing in virtualization who wants to contribute to a stable, secure, and available platform for the mission-critical real-time systems used in Trafikverket's operational activities. Job Responsibilities As a systems technician specializing in virtualization, you will work with operations, maintenance, and development of the virtualization platforms that form the foundation for Trafikverket's mission-critical real-time systems. The platforms are a central part of the infrastructure supporting operations with high demands on availability, security, and performance, where downtime or disruptions can have a direct impact on operational activities. You will be part of a skilled team responsible for Trafikverket's central virtualization platforms in a datacenter environment. The platforms form a fundamental part of the infrastructure for business-critical and mission-critical real-time systems. As an experienced technician, you are expected to contribute deep technical expertise in virtualization, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and platform development. The role involves both operational work in daily operations and an active responsibility for further developing Trafikverket's local virtualization platforms. The focus is on ensuring a stable, secure, and efficient datacenter environment that supports mission-critical real-time systems, while collaborating with adjacent technical areas where integrations with cloud services and other platforms occur. As a systems technician, you will, among other things: operate, monitor, and manage Trafikverket's virtualization platforms in the datacenter environment perform upgrades, changes, and lifecycle management work with capacity planning, availability, and performance optimization analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues automated recurring tasks through scripting and standardization contribute to the development of platform architecture, working methods, and technical direction collaborate with adjacent technical areas where integrations with cloud services and other infrastructure solutions are involved document system changes, procedures, and technical solutions You will work independently with significant responsibility while maintaining close collaboration with colleagues, administrators, and other specialist functions within Trafikverket. You have built strong technical understanding through several years of work in infrastructure and virtualization. You are experienced in analyzing complex problems, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing them into sustainable solutions. You take responsibility for your tasks, drive work forward, and actively contribute to creating stable and sustainable solutions. We are looking for someone who has: multiple years of current experience working with IT infrastructure in large and complex environments documented experience with operations, management, and development of virtualization platforms experience with scripting and automation, such as PowerShell or equivalent experience documenting systems, procedures, and changes strong knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing at least a completed upper secondary education in IT or equivalent knowledge acquired through education and work experience It is meritorious if you have experience with: VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) VMware Aria Suite VMware NSX large VMware environments in datacenters platform management in business-critical or highly available environments agile working methods Additional Information The position is classified in a security class.
