Do you have a broad background in software or systems development and thrive best when you get to understand the whole picture – not just write code? Are you also curious about new technologies and comfortable working on projects where all the answers aren't available from the start? Then this role might be for you.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
We are seeking a systems engineer in software development for our client's growing team within the defense industry in Växjö. The team consists of approximately 14 people, primarily in systems development, but also in testing and quality assurance.
The team works on projects that vary in length, technical content, and maturity, which requires the ability to understand different technical environments and adapt work according to project needs. Many projects are also in an early phase where structure and technical direction are not yet fully established. You will therefore have the opportunity to create clarity, identify paths forward, and test solutions together with the team.
As a systems engineer, you work both with programming and with broader questions about how the software should function as part of a larger technical system. The work may include new development and further development of software, requirements breakdown, and technical investigations. C# appears in the technical environment, but the role is primarily about being able to understand different technologies, grasp how the system's components fit together, and find solutions based on the project's needs.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO:
Have relevant higher education or a civil engineering degree in, for example, computer science, software, or systems development, or alternatively a vocational education (YH) combined with relevant work experience.
Have at least one year of experience in software development, systems development, or systems engineering work.
Have experience in programming, preferably in C#, and a broad understanding of software and how different parts of a system interact.
Speak and write fluent Swedish and English, as both languages are used in daily work.
As a person, you are curious, unpretentious, and humble. You have a willingness to learn and aren't afraid to ask for help when you get stuck. When something doesn't work as planned, you benefit from previous mistakes and see it as an opportunity to learn and make better decisions going forward. Since the team is characterized by an open and helpful climate, it is also important that you are receptive, communicative, and can discuss different technical perspectives in a constructive manner.
ABOUT THE EMPLOYMENT:
This is a consulting assignment, which means you will be employed by Friday.
The position requires that you undergo and are approved according to applicable security clearance requirements at any given time. For positions where the client has requirements for security classification, there may, where applicable, be requirements for certain citizenship.
