As a Systems Engineer – Network and IT Security, you will work with development, management, and technical problem-solving in security-critical IT infrastructure. You will work with standalone gateways, firewalls, switches, and load balancers. Here you combine technology, problem-solving, and IT security in a daily role where robustness, high availability, and security are critical. You work alongside other technical specialists and have the opportunity to develop yourself in an area where both technology and requirements constantly evolve. This is more than a typical IT job. Your expertise contributes to enabling the Swedish Armed Forces to communicate, lead, and operate when it matters most. Primary Responsibilities You become part of a technical team that develops and manages solutions to protect IT environments and ensure robust and available infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include: Configure and manage firewalls, switches, and load balancers Design and further develop network infrastructure with high security and availability requirements Troubleshoot and analyze complex network and security-related issues Perform installations, upgrades, and technical changes to hardware and software Contribute to automation, development, and improvement of technical solutions Collaborate with other technical specialists in development and management work The work spans the entire chain – from development and procurement to installation, customization, management, further development, and decommissioning. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: Academic education in IT or work experience that the employer deems equivalent, combined with relevant work experience Good knowledge of secure data communication Experience with network infrastructure with high availability and IT security requirements Practical experience with firewalls, switches, and load balancers Good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing B-class driver's license Personal Qualities You are curious, solution-oriented, and enjoy understanding how technology, systems, and security connect. You thrive at analyzing problems, finding solutions, and developing yourself as technology and conditions change. You take responsibility for your tasks while also seeing the bigger picture. You work independently when needed, but also enjoy collaborating with others and sharing knowledge. Meritorious It is an advantage if you have: Experience with server installation and configuration Familiarity with Linux-based environments Experience with scripting and automation, such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Ansible Familiarity with version control, such as Git Experience with various security products for network monitoring You do not need experience in all areas.
