As a county hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we serve two million people in Central Sweden. Something is constantly happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother is operated on, a colleague is hailed as a hero. With us you will experience both hard trials and fantastic events, in a strong community with colleagues. Welcome with your application! Are you a nursing student interested in working in hematology after completing your nursing education and obtaining your nursing degree? We offer you, who are starting term 6 of the nursing program and who choose to begin your career with us after completing your studies, the opportunity to apply for study salary during your final term (term 6). Our Operations On hematology ward 101A, we care for patients with blood diseases, such as leukemias and myelomas. Here highly specialized care is provided with a focus on both medical quality and person-centered care. We care for patients throughout the entire care process – from investigation to intensive treatment and, for some patients, blood stem cell transplantation or CAR T-cell treatment. Stem cell transplantation is one of our specialty areas and we are accredited according to the European quality assurance JACIE. The work is varied and medically advanced. You work with, among other things, central lines, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, medications against infections, and transfusions of blood components. It also includes monitoring and assessment of patients in connection with advanced treatments. At the same time, care is a central part of the work. We support patients and relatives throughout the care process. Many treatments last for several weeks and recur over time, which means that we get to know our patients well and follow them through large parts of their treatment journey. We work in multiprofessional teams where nurses, nursing assistants, doctors and other professionals collaborate closely. Thanks to the specialized care, we have a high nurse-to-patient ratio and you will have an experienced nurse as your mentor during your first year. JACIE accreditation means that we work in a structured way with clear procedures and checklists for all procedures. It creates security for you as a nurse, contributes to safe care for patients, and gives us good conditions to continuously develop and improve our operations.
