Within the unit, our centrally placed career and academic counselors work. We constantly strive to develop and improve our operations. Duties As a career and academic counselor within adapted primary school in Helsingborg, you will ensure that all students have a sustainable plan for transition to adapted upper secondary school. The career and academic counselor's task is to work together with educators to ensure that students and guardians receive comprehensive and neutral information about the educational offerings within adapted upper secondary school, and through various guidance interventions, prepare the student to be able to make decisions about which educational path the student wishes to choose. The career and academic counselor shall offer the student guidance conversations where the student has the opportunity to reflect on themselves in relation to different future paths. The guidance should challenge students' assumptions about alternatives, what is possible, and help them discover new pathways. The career and academic counselor makes a major effort to create security for guardians. This happens through guidance conversations with invited guardians, phone contact, and parent meetings – all so that the student succeeds in their studies, receives support in decision-making situations, and feels hopeful about the future. The career and academic counselor is part of the adapted school's reception team, where the focus is to have a career and academic guidance perspective from the beginning when the question of admission to the school form is raised. You have work experience where you are comfortable taking responsibility and are confident in your professional role. You have experience with the target group, and it is advantageous if you have experience working in school. You collaborate but can also work independently in a structured manner. You are thorough and decisive and can express yourself well in speech and writing and have an interest in administrative matters. You have a talent for building relationships, networking, and maintaining contact with key individuals. We place great emphasis on personal suitability and good collaborative skills are a prerequisite, as well as a willingness to develop the work and see connections. We are looking for someone who starts from the student's needs and capabilities and can adapt career and academic guidance to best support the student in progressing through their selection process and implementing their decisions.
