We at Skiftingehus are an F-9 school with 560 wonderful students. The school is located approximately 3 km from the center, we have good bus connections and good parking opportunities near the school. Skiftingehus underwent extensive renovations that were completed by the fall semester of 2022, and the school can now boast bright, newly renovated and functional facilities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a career and education counselor with us, you will work with long-term guidance from a holistic perspective from preschool class through grade 9. You support and guide students regarding future study and career choices by holding various types of informational meetings and group activities, as well as through individual counseling sessions. You work informatively, motivationally and in a coaching manner, primarily with students but also with teachers and other school staff. You have contact with guardians and participate in parent meetings, primarily in middle school and especially in grade 9. Your tasks include administration related to upper secondary school admissions and coordination of work experience for students in grades 8 and 9.
You are part of the school's student health team consisting of, among others, a school counselor, school nurse and special education teacher. Together with your colleagues on the team, you play an important role in student health work. You are also part of an active network for career and education counselors within Eskilstuna Municipality's primary schools as well as a larger network for career and education counselors in all educational forms within Eskilstuna Municipality. In this position you are given the freedom to organize your own work beyond the meetings you participate in.
QUALIFICATIONS
You have a degree in career and education counseling or are nearly finished with your education as a career and education counselor. We see previous experience as a career and education counselor in primary school as a merit. If you have experience using our documentation system Prorenata, as well as experience and training in MI, that is a plus.
We are looking for someone who enjoys meeting with people, has good communication skills and is clear in your communication. You meet many people during a workday and have a lot of contact with both students, guardians and colleagues. Since you will be the only one in your professional role at the school, we see that you are good at organizing and driving your own work forward and that you enjoy working independently.
