About the Workplace The Humanities and Theology Faculties at Lund University have an integrated library organization, HT Libraries. HT Libraries consists of three physical units—the Asia, LUX, and SOL Libraries—which function as one operation. As a student assistant at HT Libraries, you may work shifts at all units. Read more on the university's website about working with us. Job Responsibilities You will provide service at our information desks, primarily for students and employees of the HT Faculties. Your work will include basic library tasks such as lending services, shelving books, basic IT support, moving collections, some cleaning, and administrative duties, as well as other assistant tasks common to libraries. Since the work involves handling printed materials, it can at times be physically demanding. Qualifications To be eligible for employment as a student assistant, you must be engaged in full-time studies at university level in Sweden, have completed approved studies corresponding to at least 60 higher education credits (hp), and not have started doctoral studies. Requirements for Employment Previous approved studies corresponding to at least 60 hp Ongoing full-time studies at basic or advanced level at the HT Faculties at Lund University during the employment period. Very good Swedish, both spoken and written. Good English, both spoken and written. You are progressing on schedule with your studies. Merits for Employment Ongoing or planned studies in Library and Information Science. Experience with library work, preferably at university and/or research libraries. Experience from service roles or other positions where human interaction is central. Language skills that would address a need within the organization. Previous studies in humanities or theology. The position requires that you are service-oriented and have strong communication skills. You need to be detail-oriented in your work tasks. It is very important that you take responsibility and are self-driven in carrying out your duties. You will work partly alone during evenings, and you need to be comfortable with this. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability. Working Hours Working hours are mainly scheduled for two regular afternoons/evenings per week, preferably on Wednesdays and Fridays. There are limited opportunities to exchange shifts. Any additional working hours will be arranged in consultation with the organization. Vacation days are taken by agreement and in accordance with the organization's needs. Other Information The employment is time-limited from October 5, 2026 through January 17, 2027 or by agreement and constitutes 18% full-time employment. Regulations regarding student assistant employment are found in the Agreement for Student Assistants. Employment must not negatively impact your studies. Also describe how your study plans look during the employment period and your thoughts about any future studies in Library and Information Science. Since the time a student can hold a student assistant position is limited, any previous or planned parallel student assistant positions must be clearly stated in the application. About the Humanities and Theology Faculties The Humanities and Theology Faculties have seven departments and conduct extensive and varied activities in research and education. We have approximately 700 employees and approximately 4,000 full-time students. About HT Libraries The Humanities and Theology Faculties at Lund University have an integrated library organization, HT Libraries. HT Libraries consists of three physical units: the Asia, LUX, and SOL Libraries. These are located near each other and function as one operation. We strive to provide close and subject-specific support for research and learning at the HT Faculties. The pedagogical and service-oriented approach, together with integration into the broader activities of the HT Faculties, forms the foundation of our work. The collections consist of both printed and electronic resources. HT Libraries works closely with other libraries at Lund University.
