Strategic Procurement Specialist - Electrical, Information and Ticketing Systems
We are looking for an experienced procurement professional with expertise in electrical engineering to ensure the smooth operation of our projects. You will be responsible for procuring sophisticated information, ticketing, and communication systems for urban and suburban transportation - specifically for the technological equipment of buses.
We're starting with an annual contract for a full-time position - if everything works out well, we'll be happy to sign an indefinite contract with you afterwards.
What makes this role unique?
We don't procure standard catalog materials. In this role, you will be an expert in procuring technological systems and custom electronics:
- Ticketing Systems: Ticket validators, onboard computers, contactless card readers (EMV), QR codes and NFC, ticket machines and inspector readers.
- Information Systems (PIS / Passenger Information): LED/LCD information displays (interior, exterior and stop displays), acoustic announcement systems, intercoms and radio stations (GSM-R, TETRA).
- Control and Communication Electronics: Industrial PCs (IPC), routers (LTE/5G/Wi-Fi), switches, IoT modules, CAN bus/Ethernet communication buses, GPS/GNSS positioning units.
- Camera and Security Systems (CCTV): IP cameras with advanced image analysis (e.g., automatic passenger counting) and recording devices (NVR) in highly shock-resistant designs.
- Custom Electronics: Printed circuit boards (PCB) and custom cable harnesses equipped with industrial and automotive connectors (e.g., M12, Harting).
Key Responsibilities
- Leading Procurement Negotiations: Negotiating prices, payment terms, delivery schedules and service contracts with key suppliers.
- Tender Management: Preparing, organizing and evaluating tenders for the purchase of electrical components and IT systems.
- Supplier Management: Identifying new and evaluating existing suppliers, building long-term and strategic partnerships.
- Technical and Commercial Support: Close collaboration with engineers (defining technical specifications, optimizing costs).
- Lifecycle Management (Obsolescence Management): Actively addressing replacements for discontinued electronic components (EOL - End of Life) and identifying alternative components on the market.
- Contracts and Compliance: Preparing and reviewing purchase contracts and orders in accordance with legal and internal standards.
Required Education and Experience
- Education: Minimum secondary education (technical or economic with demonstrated knowledge in electrical engineering/IT).
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years in a procurement role in electrical engineering, IT, automotive or mechanical engineering.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to read technical documentation (understand block diagrams, technical drawings of cable harnesses and mechanical assemblies/chassis for panels) and knowledge of electrical engineering components.
- Professional Competency: Knowledge of procuring specific systems (ticketing and camera systems or information displays, cabling).
- Language Skills: Active English proficiency for daily business communication with foreign suppliers.
- Key Skills: Excellent negotiation abilities, analytical thinking, stress resilience and attention to detail.
- Driver's License: Category B and willingness to travel to suppliers in the Czech Republic and abroad.
