About the Position As a school counselor at Strandskolan, you are part of the school's student welfare team and also participate in the municipality's school counselor group. This group receives supervision every other week and also arranges approximately two full-day meetings per term for counselor meetings. Student welfare encompasses medical, psychological, psychosocial, and special education measures and works primarily preventatively and health-promotingly. The student welfare team's expertise and cross-professional collaboration are essential for teachers and other school staff to receive early support in adapting activities to students' needs. Your main assignment is to support students' development toward educational goals. You contribute with a psychosocial perspective in the work of supporting students' knowledge development. In practice, this means you contribute psychosocial expertise regarding early and appropriate support measures at the individual, group, and school level. As a counselor with us, you are an expert within the school regarding social work and social legislation. The work involves, among other things, contributing to a holistic perspective, both in individual student work and in overall preventive work. The counselor role requires considerable independence. The role involves being a hub in the school's preventive and health-promoting work. This is a permanent position with immediate start. Who Are You? We are looking for someone with a degree in social work (socionom) or equivalent education such as psychology or behavioral science. Previous experience working as a school counselor is an asset. You have a great ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. You have very good collaborative skills. You are engaged, solution-focused, and see opportunities based on given conditions. You have the ability and desire to influence our school culture and be part of developing the school's student welfare work. The position requires you to be flexible according to the needs of the operation. You can make professional judgments and can, independently or in collaboration with others, plan and carry out interventions. We appreciate if you are comfortable with change and development. You are expected to take independent responsibility for your own professional work. The position also requires that you as a school counselor take responsibility for maintaining and deepening your professional competence and knowledge of developments.
