2 position(s).
Are you someone who brings positive energy and stands steady even when others are having a tough day? Perfect. We are now recruiting two support assistants to a service residence within social psychiatry at Morö Backe. Here you will get close and meaningful work where your approach can make a big difference in people's daily lives.
YOUR ROLE
As a support assistant, you provide individually tailored support to five people with different needs and circumstances. Four live in the service residence and one person lives in a satellite apartment a short walk away. The support needs vary, so you need to be able to adapt both your working methods and your approach based on the person and the situation.
The work is based on individual implementation plans and can involve, for example, support with meals and personal hygiene, everyday tasks in the home, or accompanying people on activities and visits. An important part of the assignment is also to create security, motivation and structure in everyday life. You work pedagogically and in a relationship-building way with the goal that each person can be as involved and independent as possible. The well-being of the residents can vary, so you need to be able to meet different situations with both calmness and clarity.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
You have a secondary education in care and service, the Children and Recreation Program with a focus on pedagogical or social work, or another education that we consider equivalent. You also have previous experience working with people, where you have had to adapt your approach and support based on different people and situations.
It is particularly advantageous if you have worked with people with mental health issues or disabilities. Experience with low-affective approaches and pedagogical methods is also valuable.
For us, your personal qualities are just as important. You are a secure and positive person who likes to take initiative and bring energy to everyday life. You have a natural way of building relationships and can be both warm and clear in your approach. When someone reacts strongly, you remain calm and can separate the person from what happens in the moment. At the same time, you are responsive to individual needs and work collaboratively with your colleagues to find good solutions.
You need to be able to communicate and document in Swedish and have a passing grade in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1. The work involves, among other things, walks, cleaning and laundry, so you need to have the physical capacity to handle these tasks.
Skellefteå Municipality is part of the Finnish and Sámi administrative area. Language skills in Finnish and Sámi as well as cultural competence in these areas are therefore advantageous.
The position is subject to a criminal record check requirement according to law. Before a possible job offer, you must provide a certificate from the police register for work in homes with elderly people or people with disabilities. You are responsible for ordering the correct certificate from the Police Authority.
YOUR NEW WORKPLACE
The service residence is located at Morö Backe in Skellefteå and here six employees work together to create a safe and functioning everyday life for the people who live here. It is a small operation where you will have the opportunity to get to know both the residents and your colleagues well.
For most of the day you work two together. At the same time, you need to be comfortable seeing what needs to be done and taking initiative even when the day is not full of planned activities. Working hours currently include days, evenings, weekends and on-call shifts, and you work four out of eight weekends. We work according to a working time model where you have the opportunity to submit your own schedule proposals and thus influence how your working time is arranged.
Here you become part of social psychiatry within Support and Services. Together we work so that people with different circumstances get the opportunity to live as independently, securely and meaningfully as possible. We now hope to find two new colleagues who want to contribute to that – and at the same time to a workplace where we help, support and strengthen each other.
GOOD TO KNOW
We recruit based on competence and focus on your experience, knowledge and potential. Instead of a cover letter, you answer some selection questions and attach an updated CV. Occupational psychological tests are used as part of the recruitment process.
