Job Duties We are now recruiting several support assistants for temporary positions through December 31, 2026 with the possibility of extension to Åkerviolens group housing with special services (BmSS). Åkerviolen is a residential facility for six residents and serves individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism. Our residents have varying and sometimes extensive care needs. In our daily work, we use methods such as low-arousal approaches, structured teaching, sign support, and alternative and augmentative communication. As a support assistant, you will support residents based on individual needs to enable a good and independent life. The starting point is that residents should be involved and able to influence decisions and services according to their abilities. You will provide daily support, from communication and leisure activities to household tasks and medication management according to delegation. Your work includes establishing and following implementation plans based on residents' needs and motivating residents in their daily lives. This may include encouraging contact outside the home and creating opportunities for enriching leisure time. As a support assistant, you will also help create a positive and relaxed atmosphere where there is room for joy and a pleasant environment, making daily life more meaningful for the residents. Working hours include days, evenings, weekends, and on-call overnight shifts. If needed, you may also work at nearby residential facilities with which we collaborate. We welcome your application! Qualifications We are looking for someone with a degree from a Care and Health Program, Support Assistant training, or a Children and Leisure Program with a focus on social and pedagogical work. The education requirement is also met if you have a specialization in the disability field comprising at least 200 vocational school credits, 120 college credits, or 60 college credits with two years of work experience with individuals with disabilities. Courses should be in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer considers equivalent. You must have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1. If you do not meet the language requirement, you may need to take a language test through test provider Educateit. The work requires very good Swedish language skills in both speech and writing, as communication, documentation, and secure information handling are part of the job duties. It is a requirement that you have experience working with threats, violence, and challenging behavior. We are looking for someone who is flexible and calm, can adapt quickly to changes, is positive and stress-resilient, and maintains composure even in challenging situations. We also value your open and positive attitude as you keep the client's needs as the basis for your actions and show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role. Merits: We consider it a merit if you have experience with the target group of intellectual disabilities and autism. We would like to see knowledge and experience with the following methods: LAB (low-arousal approach), AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), Structured Teaching, Sign Support, and IBIC (Individual Needs-Centered). Other Information Selection and interviews will begin during the application period. In this recruitment, you will answer a number of questions where you describe your knowledge in the field instead of submitting a personal letter. Attach diplomas and grades under other files.
