About the workplace
At Ersta diakoni LSS, we work to enable each person to live as independent and active a life as possible based on their own circumstances, needs, and wishes. We operate ten group homes in the Stockholm area, Vallentuna, and Uppsala.
For us, compassion is part of our competence. It's about providing professional and individually adapted support, but also about being attentive to the person you meet and what matters to them.
Right now, we are looking for you to work extra at one of our group homes in Vallentuna or Täby:
Västlundavägen (Vallentuna) - residents here have congenital intellectual disability (client group 1)
Körlinge (Vallentuna) - residents here have acquired intellectual disability (client group 2)
Angarns-Haga (Vallentuna) - residents here are young adults
Koltrastvägen (Vallentuna) - residents here have Down syndrome
Arningetorpsvägen (Täby) - residents here belong to client group 1 and in some cases also have psychiatric diagnoses
You can read more about our group homes here.
About the role
As a support assistant, you provide individually adapted and everyday support based on each person's needs and circumstances. You support and motivate in daily life and leisure activities, with the goal of strengthening independence, participation, and quality of life.
Work tasks vary based on residents' needs. The work includes providing support in daily activities, cooking, and cleaning. You also work with social documentation and implementation plans, maintain contact with residents' networks, and perform health and care tasks as delegated.
As an extra worker, you work as needed and must be able to work days, evenings, and weekends. We are looking for someone who has the flexibility to sometimes step in on short notice.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who enjoys working closely with people and can meet each person based on individual needs and circumstances. You are secure, attentive, and responsible and find it easy to build trusting relationships.
The work involves both collaborating with others and being able to act independently. Therefore, it's important that you can stay calm and make decisions even when situations become challenging. You are also well-organized and understand the importance of following routines and documenting your work.
Your experience
We are looking for you to:
have reached 18 years of age
express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written
have good digital skills
be able to work days, evenings, and weekends
have the ability to work as needed and sometimes on short notice
It is a merit if you:
have completed education from a care and support program with a focus on disabilities, support assistant training, pedagogical education, or other education we consider equivalent
have experience working within LSS or similar services

For work at Körlinge, you need to have a driver's license and access to your own car, as the home has limited access to public transportation. For Angarns-Haga, Koltrastvägen, and Västlundavägen, a driver's license and access to your own car are desirable.
