Disability Care Services in Umeå Municipality aims, through proximity and collaboration, to be a resource that enables and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life.
Uttervägen is a group home according to LSS (Act Concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) with a focus on intellectual disabilities. The home houses young active service users with many leisure activities. All service users live in their own apartment and share common areas.

Your responsibilities
As a support assistant, you support service users in daily life based on approved measures. This can include assistance with meals, cleaning, laundry, personal care and transfers, as well as planning and implementing activities. You provide both social and practical support with a focus on strengthening and utilizing the individual's own abilities, and creating good conditions for independence and participation.
The role includes participating in activities based on service users' interests and needs – for example at the stable, at the gym, at home, or in nature. The work also includes documentation and record-keeping, work with implementation plans, and medication management. Heavy lifting and challenging behaviors may occur in the operations.
Work hours are scheduled during day, evening, weekends, and on-call nights. Co-planning occurs between our disability care service operations.
About you
You have a good ability to collaborate and maintain a professional approach toward service users, family members, and other people involved in our service users' lives. You are committed and have a desire to share our values and work toward established goals, as well as work with continuous improvements. You have a solution-focused and flexible work approach and enjoy creating and maintaining structure. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
In order for you to communicate with service users, family members, and colleagues, write and access care documentation, and receive medication delegation, you must have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
Requirements
Care and welfare program, child and leisure program, social work program, or another education that we consider equivalent
Several years of experience working in disability care services
Category B driving license
Meritorious
Education in clarifying pedagogy and/or positive behavior support
Experience with planning, follow-up and analysis, as well as working with continuous improvements in close collaboration with colleagues and other professionals
Pets may be present in the workplace, so you should not have allergies.
