Support Assistant for Active Day within Social Psychiatry

Within the Social Services Department of Järfälla Municipality, there is a social psychiatry operations area whose task is to provide support and assistance services to people with various types of psychosocial disabilities. Our Active Day program is the heart of this work and is an intervention for people with mental health challenges or those covered by the Social Services Act (SoL). Here, people are met by engaged staff members who with warmth and competence help each individual find their path to a meaningful everyday life. We have two activity facilities for Active Day; Aspen in Jakobsberg and Hantverkarbacken in Kallhäll. Here our participants can engage in cooking and baking, exercise, music, art and craft, and much more. The two facilities together currently serve a total of 130 participants who participate in various activities. On weekends and public holidays, there is more social interaction. The facilities are open 8:30-15:45 on weekdays and 12:00-15:45 on holidays. We are now recruiting a support assistant for the Aspen facility. 1 position(s). WORK RESPONSIBILITIES As a support assistant, your work involves supporting and inspiring participants to have an active day with various activities. By providing motivation and guidance and creating structure in daily life and strengthening the individual's own abilities. Support should be provided together with the participant, and the idea is that this work is a preparatory intervention to give the individual the opportunity for personal development and social community. As a support assistant you are expected to: • Help, motivate and provide support in the activities • Contribute to a meaningful and good life • Inspire participants to find suitable activities • Contribute with expertise and knowledge for the development of the program • Collaborate with colleagues and maintain contact with other partner organizations • Be flexible and able to cover for absences • Be creative and engaged QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has: • Education as a mental health nurse, nursing assistant, social pedagogue or support pedagogue with a focus on psychiatry. • Previous experience working with this target group and/or in social psychiatry. • Experience with cooking and baking, as the facility prepares lunch every day and bakes several times a week. • Very good skills in Swedish, both spoken and written. As a person, you are calm and action-oriented in unpredictable situations. You are confident in yourself and with the target group and have strong social competence. The primary focus of this position is on cooking and baking together with participants, and you will have special responsibility for planning and implementing these activities together with colleagues. At the same time, you are part of the overall operation and need to be flexible and able to support other work groups as needed. Furthermore, you are responsive, stress-resilient, quick-thinking and within established procedures, you have the ability to plan/evaluate and analyze ongoing work and take own initiatives that lead the program and participants in a positive direction. It is advantageous if you have: • Training in MI (Motivational Interviewing) • Class B Driver's License • Vocational Diploma • Experience with low-arousal approaches We place great importance on personal qualities.
