Job Responsibilities Residency in psychiatry is a training position where you, under supervision, perform common clinical tasks within psychiatry. Adult Psychiatry Västmanland has a well-regarded residency program. Clinical work alternates with theoretical components and participation in the clinic's teaching and development activities. Together with the residency program director and your main supervisor, an individual training plan will be developed for your residency with us. Your main supervisor will follow you throughout your training and work with the program director to ensure you have the best conditions to achieve your training goals. Most of your clinical work will take place in Västerås, but some may also occur at our clinics in the county. Your responsibilities also include on-call duties and supervising interns, postgraduate trainees, locum physicians, and medical students. Adult Psychiatry is divided into two sections: inpatient care and outpatient services. The inpatient care section is located in Västerås and consists of five care wards and a psychiatric emergency clinic. Outpatient services operate in Västerås, Köping, Fagersta, and Sala. Qualifications We're looking for someone who is a licensed physician or nearing the end of your internship or postgraduate training. To meet patients, relatives, and colleagues in a secure manner, you need very good Swedish in both speech and writing; if you lack a passing grade in Swedish from a Swedish secondary school program, we require certification at level C2. It's meritorious if you have experience working as a physician within Swedish healthcare and previous experience in adult psychiatry. We also view favorably candidates with good references from Region Västmanland and/or previous work in adult psychiatry. You have good collaboration skills, build trusting relationships, and meet patients, relatives, and colleagues with attentiveness and empathy. Employment Terms Permanent position as a resident physician or alternatively a fixed-term position as a locum physician. Full-time. On-call duties are included. Probationary period may apply.
