Are you engaged and curious and looking for a developing role as an Electrical Design Engineer at a company striving toward a more sustainable world? Then this job might be perfect for you! Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining a journey. A journey we believe is crucial for the planet's future and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for our societal development and will continue to be so in the future. In our homes, in bridges connecting our cities, and in tomorrow's cars. At SSAB, we take pride in our history and our leadership in high-strength steel. At the same time, we are aware that steel production is one of the industries that emits the most greenhouse gases in the world. That must change. We have therefore developed the world's first fossil-free process for steel production and have committed to becoming largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will be important in realizing this goal and thus contribute to a green transformation of the entire steel industry. About the Position You will work together with colleagues on electrical design, including new designs and modifications to existing drawings/facilities, problem-solving, facility development, documentation, training, and commissioning of machines in our facilities. You will primarily participate in two different workflows: projects and work order flows. Collaboration with production sections/departments is important, and your most common contact points will consist of maintenance technicians, operations technicians, and external suppliers, but you will also have contact with procurement, internal personnel, and contractors. You will be part of the Electrical/Mechanical Engineering section within the Sheet Metal Technology department. The section has approximately 30 electrical and mechanical design engineers working with the Rolling Mill's facilities. We work in area groups where mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers collaborate across four different production departments. We offer you developing and stimulating days where you, together with other engineers, are responsible for the electrical design and function of machines and facilities within the Rolling Mill. With us, you have the opportunity to get close to reality and follow projects from idea to commissioning. Your Main Responsibilities • Perform electrical design according to established standards • Commissioning of machines and facilities • Review design documentation and validate safety solutions • Assist in the development of facilities and working methods • Contribute technical expertise as needed, for example with complex solutions • Conduct risk assessments and place orders related to work orders/projects • Archive drawings and electrical documentation About You • You have education in electrical design or equivalent knowledge obtained through experience, plus several years of documented experience in electrical design. We consider it a strong merit if you have experience from manufacturing industry. • You enjoy technical challenges, have the ability to quickly understand complex problems, and are solution-oriented in your work. • You plan and organize your own work, are driven, and have the ability to make independent decisions. • Good collaboration skills are important, and you have an open approach, are receptive, and adapt solutions to emerging needs. • You speak fluent Swedish and English and have strong ability to express yourself in speech and writing. Selection and interviews take place on an ongoing basis, and the position may be filled before the final application deadline.
