JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a language, literacy, and writing development specialist, you will work primarily in a strategic and process-oriented manner to develop language, literacy, and writing instruction throughout the municipality. The mission is to create conditions for children and students to develop the linguistic abilities required for learning, participation, and future studies. You may also provide support close to instructional situations. The role includes, among other things: • initiating, leading, and supporting development work within language, literacy, and writing development • coordinating and developing collaborative learning within our schools • planning and implementing competency development initiatives based on research and proven experience • following up, analyzing, and compiling results and quality indicators • supporting principals in analyzing, planning, and implementing development initiatives • contributing to the development of language and knowledge-building work methods in all activities • strengthening efforts around literacy promotion, school libraries, and multilingualism • collaborating with pedagogical developers, student health professionals, and other key personnel within the education administration. You will be organized within the Central Child and Student Health (CBEH) department, and other tasks that CBEH is responsible for may also occur. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a strong interest and specialized expertise in literacy and writing development. You have a teacher's degree or speech-language pathology training. You should have extensive experience with development initiatives through education, mentoring, consultation, and be well-acquainted with school regulations. We place great importance on your pedagogical experience and personal suitability, but we also view applications positively from those new to the role. You are skilled at collaboration and at creating open and trusting relationships, and you are engaged and enthusiastic. Independence, good administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize, create structure, and maintain order are necessary for the role. It is natural for you to focus and drive forward to ensure quality and evidence, as well as achieve good results. It is also important that you enjoy working in a team and that you can handle digital tools such as Teams and the Office package. A driver's license is required.
