Job Duties Through collaboration and on behalf of the principal, the special education teacher/specialist teacher works to ensure all students achieve the highest possible goal attainment. The duties are guided by the needs of students and the school based on national and local curricula. This includes: - Identifying, analyzing, and contributing to work that removes obstacles and addresses causes of difficulties in students' learning environments; collaborating with school staff and leadership to facilitate learning for children and students requiring special support. - Collaboration with individual colleagues, work teams, student welfare teams, and school leadership. You will be part of a special education team with several specialist teachers. - Serving as a qualified discussion partner and advisor on pedagogical matters for principals, teachers, guardians, and other relevant internal and external stakeholders. - Conducting pedagogical assessments, analyzing difficulties, and coaching teachers and work teams to create good development opportunities at organizational, group, and individual levels. - Managing documentation and follow-up through the school's administrative systems, e.g., Prorenata, UNIKUM. - Supporting the principal in pedagogical and organizational changes at the school and in strategic matters to develop good learning environments. - Contributing to the school's systematic quality improvement work for increased goal attainment. Your Profile You have teaching certification and a special education teacher/specialist teacher degree with experience in special education work, such as through work with accommodations, special support, pedagogical assessments, and colleague coaching. Meriting qualifications also include experience with pedagogical assessments and evaluations as well as intervention programs. In this role, it is important that you work from a relational and inclusive approach, with the ability to support and coach teachers in creating accessible learning environments, accommodations, and special support. It is particularly important that you have excellent ability to build trusting relationships with students, colleagues, guardians, and external partners. Here we follow our youngest community residents from preschool until they graduate from upper secondary school. Through our adult education program, people can learn Swedish as a second language, take individual courses, or pursue longer studies.
